Then a Goat?

been waiting so long his hair has gone grey

My goodness the Forge World sculptors have been busy this year as the final unreleased Star Player from the 2020 rulebook has been announced – finally.

With all of the Norse announcements I was not expecting this goat riding Star Player to be announced as well. I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of love GW have given Blood Bowl so far this year. After two rather lack luster years, although I am sure COVID has contributed to that.

That said the Greebo third party mini I think embraces the silliness of this character a little better but GW have gone for a simple while effective model in comparison to the very (very) busy Greebo one.

Meet Ivar Eriksson

The return of the Norse to Games Workshops line up of available teams is bringing a lot of extra options for coaches. Today they announced another Star Player in the form of Ivar Eriksson.

Some of his rules were given in the article, with him having Guard, Tackle and of course Block. His special ability similar to Thorsson Stoutmead works each drive instead of the far more common once per game. This does concern me that Star Players will start to have GW’s famous power creep but I am content with the fact that GW are still supporting this game.

The Warhammer Community article also suggests there is still more to come from the world of Blood Bowl over the next few weeks but the Norse team will have their own Spike! Magazine – although that was obvious considering every team has one. Here’s hoping for a release date soon!

Thorsson Stoutmead Announced

The Son of Thors Arrives

Along with the announcement of the Norse team there is a new Star Player hitting the Blood Bowl pitch.

This new player, Thorsson Stoutmead brings a new special ability type which unlike most which work once per game this barrel wielding fellow throws his barrels at opposition players once per drive.

The Warhammer Community article says he will be available for pre-order from Forge World soon, which is exciting for Norse and Old World Classic teams everywhere!

Adepticon Announcement

Norsca returns

Adepticon is here and with it comes a new Blood Bowl announcement. The return of the Norse team to the Blood Bowl pitch!

The last of the teams from the 2016 re-release of Blood Bowl to not have models sold by Games Workshop (either via new teams or made to order re-releases) is now here. The team will include an updated roster with the new Valkyrie and Beer Boar positionals added. The full roster was not included with the announcement but previously accidentally leaked Yhetee will remain and the Ulfwerners are also still part of this aggressive team. I suspect this will lead to a new team being released later in the year.

We’re Back!

we’re back!

After trying to move the W.A.N.K to TourPlay it appears it is not something we can do. So I am rebuilding this website with all of the data for the first round of Season 6 of the W.A.N.K. Unfortunately one of our coaches has tested positive for COVID-19 and thus there will be a delay to the finalisation of the first round.

A New Way to Play

Dungeon Bowl

The year was 1998, a young me decided to get into Warhammer 40k after my group of school friends were non-stop talking about it. I headed into my local games store and picked up the latest White Dwarf.

In the White Dwarf are rules for a game called Blood Bowl, a version run by Wizards inside a dungeon. Teams had to search chests to find the ball and then run it into the perspective End Zone, there were teleportation circles to ‘help’ players move around and most importantly the teams were made up of combinations of teams.

Now over 20 years later instead of being an add on for two games that Games Workshop were no longer producing, Dungeon Bowl is getting its own box. With nice looking tiles and chests. I am a little excited! To see more about it here is the Warhammer Community article.

A Wild Kroxigor Appears!

it’s finally here

After more than two years since the team was previewed on Warhammer Community the Lizardmen team is almost fully released.

The Kroxigor model has finally been previewed and I have to admit, I think it looks fantastic. Not sure if it was worth the wait good but at least it was not a huge wait for an awful mini.

Unfortunately there is no release date or if the mini is going to be sold via Games Workshop or if it will be sold through ForgeWorld but I am hoping this mini will be released close to the Khorne team.

Season 5 Cancelled

Due to the full lockdown in our area as a result of recent COVID-19 cases the current season will be cancelled.

The plan is to have the final two games of round 6 finalised and the winner will be based on ladder position.

This Week with Wally and Dusty

Wally: Good morning sports fans, I’m Wally.

Dusty: And I’m Dusty

Wally: And you’re watching This Week with Wally and Dusty.

Dusty: As we were commentating last week’s match we were unable to do the show last week. And we certainly weren’t going to let that poncy elf and tank driver fill in for us.

Wally: I’d be careful about insulting Mervyn, he kept that Deathroller you know.

Dusty: I would rather die than let an elf sit in my chair.

Wally: Moving on, this week we are sitting down with coach of the Plastered Rowdy Ignited Crazy Killers, Filson Wisk. Filson welcome to the show.

Filson: It’s a shame you’re not a Khorne worshiping man Dusty, you’d fit in great on the team.

Dusty: Your team doesn’t have Blitzers and I am not demoting myself to lineman, guys gotta get paid. There is also the busted collar bone which keeps me from playing.

Wally: Let’s try to stay on topic here lads. Filson, you’re team fought their way through the Nuln Old-school Brawl –

Dusty: The N.O.B Wally.

Wally: Thank you Dusty. From the single elimination wild card bracket all the way to winning the whole event. Do you think that has helped you prepare for the W.A.N.K this year?

Filson: No.

Wally: Any further thoughts on that?

Filson: No.

Dusty: You’re down for some good old fashioned murdering right?

Filson: It’s my favourite part of being the teams coach. The first part of any Blood Bowl player looking to play for P.R.I.C.K is a fight against me. I’ve killed many an aspiring player who expects me to go easy on them.

Dusty: That is the best idea I’ve ever heard.

Wally: Recent changes to the options for Chaos Renegade teams now allow a dedicated Thrower for the team. Is that something P.R.I.C.K will be utilising?

Filson: Our first game is this week and our roster was submitted and approved, we have a Thrower on the team for now.

Wally: I am looking forward to your teams exciting passing plays then!

Dusty: Less passing more murdering. Two big guys is interesting, don’t see that very often.

Filson: We hope to have a third soon, depending on ticket sales and attendance.

Dusty: Get out and support them. We demand more carnage!

Filson: We’re also looking to get another lineman, are you sure you don’t want a piece of the action Dusty? I’m sure Khorne could cure what ails you, it will only take a blood sacrifice.

Dusty: I’ve made plenty of those but I will consider it.

Wally: Well that’s all the time we have for this episode. Thank you for coming in and speaking to us Filson.

Filson: Dusty, it was a pleasure. Dwarf.

Dusty: Best of luck this weekend, may the fans be there in droves.

Wally: Well tune in on the weekend for our coverage of P.R.I.C.K against T.O.A.S.T. Until next time thanks for watching.
